The recent attack on a place of worship in New York City is a prime example of a gun control failure. The perpetrator entered the home of an Orthodox Jew and slashed/stabbed five innocent victims. The folks who were celebrating Hanukkah live in a place that makes it impossible to purchase a weapon, firearm or knife for self protection. They were left to using furniture to fend off the attacker.
In Texas where they allow their citizens the ability to protect themselves, there was an attack on a place of worship that ended very differently. The attacker was stopped in 6 seconds thanks to a man and a pistol.
Gun controlled New York, no personal protection. Second amendment friendly Texas, the people protected themselves. One doesn’t prevent crime, but does prevent personal defense, the other still has to deal with the criminal, but in a more efficient manner.
I prefer the self defense method of eliminating the threat.
